About us
Who we are
Trinity Karen Baptist Church is a local Baptist congregation that follows the teachings of Jesus Christ and upholds the Holy Bible as its ultimate source of authority. As a welcoming and spiritually nurturing community, the church is committed to worship, prayer, and biblical teachings that strengthen the faith of its members. Through regular services, Bible studies, and fellowship gatherings, Trinity Karen Baptist Church provides a place where individuals and families can grow in their relationship with God.
History
Trinity Karen Baptist Fellowship (TKBF) was founded with the support of Pastors Ken Lewis and the late Bob Struck of Trinity Baptist Church to serve the growing Karen community in northern St. Paul. The effort began when Ken Lewis, recognizing the need for a Karen church, urged a newly commissioned missionary, who had been working with the Karen since 2004, to assist in planting a church.
With help from Karen leader Thera Josiah and his wife Daisy, the fellowship started by gathering Karen leaders and conducting Bible studies in apartment complexes. The goal was to create a place of worship for Karen families who struggled with transportation to existing churches. On October 17, 2010, TKBF held its first formal meeting in the library of Trinity Baptist Church, quickly outgrowing the space and later moving to the fellowship room and eventually the sanctuary.
Despite initial challenges, the church grew under the leadership of Pastor Josiah and William Dwe, reaching around 150 members before the original church planter returned to Thailand. Over the years, members have moved to other churches or communities, but TKBF, now Trinity Karen Baptist Church, continues its mission
